A fracture in the country of Fiore rippled across the world and to thought to Edolas, changing worldly mechanics, despite the world looking in every way the exact same as before, thing had changed. Gravity wasn't as strong, so everything was lighter, making them easier to lift and for things to jump and fall, and fly. But that wasn't the only thing that changed, the effect of friction was reversed, so rough surfaces would be slippy and harder to grab onto while smooth surfaces would be hard to move things along. However the rift had one last effect, this was how things had always being, so for everyone, this made sense and was normal, everyone except for Natsu thought like this, Natsu was the only one who knew of the difference.
Natsu was shuffling the morning after the rift had messed up the world, as he slept on his side, on his sleep, he had kicked a little, but the slightly rough surface of the bed made his leg slide further, and into the wall, which pushed him back, and forced him to slide of the bed, and crash onto the floor, taking longer than normally, waking himself and Happy up with a bang, but not as loud as expected. "What going on!" Happy yelled in surprise, "Oh, Natsu, did you slide out of bed again, I told you that bed was getting to rough." Natsu was just plain confused, almost every Happy had just said was wrong for him, "Happy," Natsu said trying to get up, but slipped on the wooden floor. "Natsu, didn't I remind you to polish the floor yesterday, you not putting enough friction between you and the floor or bed." Natsu had to protest, "Why would polish add friction, it makes things smoother."
Happy nodded, "Exactly, smoothing means more friction," to which Natsu protested again, "Natsu the evidence is at your feet. Come on at the rate you going, if we don't go now, we won't make it to the guild before it time for us to go on a mission," Happy said flying off.
