There was an ominous wind blowing broken black clouds across a full moon over the old Smith mansion well after sundown. For a spook junkie like Harriot this was the perfect place to spend halloween abandoned enough that there are no grounds keepers or guards to chase people off, well built enough to not be a death trap, old enough to have spooky myths floating about, close by enough that she wouldn't need to spend her night driving way out into the boonies, and obscure enough that no ones tried to buy the place and ruin it by filling it with zombie props or whatever the latest fad was. Nothing but a pure genuine creepy old house to explore.
Harriot had started her evening at a costume party but they were never her thing she found them boring it was halloween after all she wanted to be scared, but as much as she hated them she hated staged haunted houses more. She had tried these more popular haunts but they felt overpriced and fake to her. She craved something more real more genuine so when one of the drunk party goers had gone on a tangent about how spooky the old smith mansion was she thought it was worth ditching the party and checking it out, and now here she was hopping the fence and walking up the long driveway, through the overgrown landscaping, and up to the front door with a beat up old electric lantern of questionable reliability in hand.
But of course halloween wasn't just about all about the spooks to Harriot it was also about costumes (why else would she tolerate going to a costume party?) and being blessed with fair breasts, appreciable curves and most importantly a short stature finding or assembling a costume was easy as she could fit in a wide wardrobe of outfits found both in the adult and kids sections and look good doing it.
