Rebekah answers, "My other test subjects would shrink down to a constant size, like you are now, but when I would come in the next day, they would be gone. I had to scoop up all the dust where they were and take a microscope over it, but eventually I found them." She slows down as she thinks about it all over again. "And they were no larger than the width of a hair by that time. It's just one of the unfortunate kinks that still have to be worked out."
Now that she said this, you have a strange feeling inside, like it's already happening inside you. It's probably nothing but your imagination, but it eats away at you. You don't mention it and simply swallow your fear. You ask the professor, "Is that going to happen to me too? What happens if it does?"
Rebekah replies, "I'm not sure. You're the first human specimen to receive the beam, so maybe there will be a difference in the results and you'll be fine, but," she hesitates.
"I shouldn't count on that." you interrupt her as if you're accepting the fact it's going to happen to you soon.
"Don't say that Scott! You'll be fine. But just in case, that's all the more reason why you should be somewhere safe where I can watch over you. If something terrible happened to you now, I couldn't forgive myself. I want you to be alright."
You tell her, "I think this is all the more reason why you should just zap me back to normal right away." Rebekah gets a strange look on her face.
