Chapter #5

Larissa Roman, Electronics Engineer

by: Amazing Colossal Archive Author IconMail Icon
A tiny woman with short brown hair, on her feet and actively circling the square perimeter of the twelve by twelve stone tile, seemingly well aware of her shrunken situation, calls out for help. But she doesn't call to you, or even yet notice your presence. She calls out about this accident to Professor Montana. She doesn't appear particularly surprised about this whole shrinking process.

Once you step out from hiding and approach her, she knows this was no accident. She stops dead still as you tower more than seventy times her size over her. Despite your dominating position, she speaks up with a little voice, "What are you doing with the professor's prototype? Who are you?"

You don't give her an answer. You contemplate what you're going to do next, and what you can do about her.

Reading your mind, perhaps erroneously, she points a tiny finger at you, "Don't even think about it!"

You turn the interview around and ask the little one who she is and what she's doing here.

"I'm Larissa. Larissa Roman, electronics engineering student. And that device you're playing with is dangerous."

Dangerous for her maybe. You ask her what she means.

"I can't tell you that." You roll your eyes. She continues, "I can't tell you, because I don't know. The professor didn't go into detail. But I was here to deliver an important part to her." She holds a small black box over her head. "If she doesn't get it, that gun ain't going to be of much use much longer."

It doesn't seem like she's bluffing. And what if she's right? Is this all you're going to get out of the matter transposer?

"Hurry. Undo what you did. I don't want to be stuck like this. How would you like to be a goddamn bug? Come on already! What are you waiting for?"
