Rob puts it on Jackson's head

Just then, Rob got a big, Cheshire grin on his face.

“What?” asked Jackson.

“I think you’ve got your in with Alyssa…”

“Huh?”

Rob presented the tiara to Jackson with a dramatic flare. “Don’t you think she’d love to wear this on the stage? Star of the spring musical, guaranteed prom queen, with a tiara from Burger King. She couldn’t resist you!”

“Cut it out!” Jackson knocked his hand back. “That’s not funny!”

“Oh, but it’s perfect,” said Rob. “Especially if you have it on your head when you see her.”

At ‘head’, Rob moved crabwise before Jackson could grab him, using the speed he’d mastered in cross country to catch Jackson from behind and delicately drop the tiara on his head, all before Jackson knew what had happened.

“What the fuck?” Jackson clawed at his head and tried to pry the tiara off, but he found it glued firmly to his forehead. “It’s stuck—” he said, before the pain cut him off, as the tiara dug into his scalp and emitted a shimmering dark glow…
