The rabbit looked at him through mirrored shades. "Hello, Wesselton," she said as though twisting a knife with a sideways grin to match her partners.

Duke could feel his claws come out as his arm muscles tensed. "It's Weaselton," he hissed quietly before releasing all his tension at once and re-applying his mask of calmness. "Now, what can I offer you this fine day?"

"We had some reports of a break in and stolen property down at this laboratory in Tundratown. We think some of the experiments may have been fenced on the black market."

"And I," said Nick, leaning across his partner's lap to try and stick his head out the window, "Heard from a few friends of mine about someone promising predators a way to feel all fangy and feral again, eh? So why don't we take a look at whatever it is you're pawning off on the unsuspecting today."

Duke's smile remained frozen as his eyes widened and shift in quick-thinking panic. While the two officers were distracted parking and getting out of their car, the weasel quickly turned to his supplies and...
