James decided it was much too open here and so he went into a place that was much more confined. He found a huge McDonald's restaurant inside the mall. This made sense since the mall had lots of traffic and so it needed a very big McDonald's to accommodate them. Once inside, you ordered a meal, found a table and then sat down presumably to eat your meal, but really to look around without being thought of as out of place. You found that at this McDonald's, a birthday party was going on for a small girl. There was not only happy meals for everyone, but paper decorations, hats and even a McDonald's cake. What you found most interesting was that at this McDonald's there was a huge play area. It was a large cubical with a door that was maybe four and a half foot high. This allowed easy access to the kiddies, but the parents had to wait outside if they didn't want to bend all the way over to get in.
The cube was mostly made of clear plexiglass with red plastic dividers. It was decorated with the McDonald's arches everywhere and had large pictures of McDonald's food items on the outside such as fries and burgers. A large Ronald McDonald poster stood by the doorway greeting the kids as they entered the play area. Inside the area was a contraption in which kids could get in and climb around. Children could enter it, and follow along it's winding path. The path led them right and left, front and back, up and down. There was many options to choose from and there were more wide open sections inside where the children could wait at and let the other kids get by. At several points in the contraption the children could crawl at least six feet off the ground.
There was a big ball pit and a place with knobs and gears that the kids could this and turn. You could get into a ride that was shaped like a plane or a car. These rides were free and were connected to the ground by huge springs so the kids could force the ride to move front and back. The kids seemed to be having a wonderful time.
James decided to swap with the birthday girl, because it was her party and so she was the first to do anything she wanted. James would have preferred to swap with a boy, but it was best to be the birthday person. He really wanted to enjoy the play so he also swapped the girl's personality with his own. James felt like a kid again. Everything seems so exciting. He ran into the contraction but soon discovered instantly that his shoes made it harder to get around. He also discovered that he didn't like wearing shoes anyway so he flung them off. Inside the contraption, James crawled around with reckless abandon. He was now wearing a dress with white tights. Since his new personality was so innocent, he didn't care if anyone saw his butt as he climbed around.
Originally, James was only going to swap for a short time. Just long enough to play in the play areas, see what it was like and return to normal. But he was having so much fun, he decided to continue until he had a piece of birthday cake. Or at least until he opened up his presents. He really wanted to see what he got.
