"I'm not stupid enough to trust you," Steven laughed. "I have to find my sister."
He walked away from the pixie, a huge mistake. The once small, innocent pixie quickly quadrupled in size and turned a dark, angry red.
"You dare walk away from me?" The pixies light, sing-song voice morphed into a deep, guttural growl.
Steven froze, unwilling to turn around and face what he had caused. He tried to recall what you could do to calm a pixie, or even kill it if necessary. Nothing to came to mind.
"I'll give you one more chance, human," she spat the word as if it was filth in her mouth. "Follow me, or risk a fate worse than death."
The cliche wasn't necessary, Steven was beginning to see he didn't have many choices.
