When you wake up, light fills your eyes from your curtain. You feel your pillow cool to the touch, spurring you to get up. Normally, you'd feel a little tired and remain in bed for a little while, but felt no need to this time as you feel invigorated.
You stretch and thought of nothing for a few seconds, but then everything that happened last night hit you like a ton a bricks. You sweat a little as you had no doubt in your mind what occurred last night and that you'd have to face your mother!
You take a shaky breath of air and go get changed. Suffice to say, although you were nervous and wanted to go back into your room, you knew that Agenis would definitely disapprove. She's not the kind of person who likes delays.
Coming downstairs and into the living room, you flinch as you see your mother, still in her night-gown, lying on the large couch with a cup of coffee in her hands. It appears she was expecting you to come down and gives you a tiny reassuring smile.
"Did you sleep well, James?"
"Y-yes...mom..."
Agenis hums and the air is filled with awkward silence. Seeing how there's no easy way to ease into a conversation, she decides to be more forward like she usually is.
"Why don't you sit down, James. We have a lot to discuss."
You take another heavy breath and shake your head, sitting next to your mother as she taps the seat beside her. As you sit down, she casually sips a bit of her coffee before facing you with a serious demeanour.
"James, I want you to know that last night, I really did need your help. You caught me off-guard, but truthfully, if you hadn't and my pump broke down, I don't think I would have the courage to come to you. This is slightly embarrassing for me, but after I had you, I breastfed you for a little longer than most babies and stopped when you were a year old. After that though, I haven't been able to stop lactating."
She sips another coffee as you listen intently.
"...I was going to buy another breast-pump and ask you to forget about all of this, but last night, I realized that perhaps I've been neglecting you a bit. I put a lot of thought into this, but I'm going to start breastfeeding you regularly starting from now on."
You widen your eyes and open your mouth, but no words could come out. Agneis frowns and grows a little irritated by your shock.
"James, be a little more composed! I want you to take this seriously. There's going to be some changes and I want you to keep an open mind throughout, do you understand?"
You nod, but you still had a hard time processing the reality of the situation. You finally begin to speak, only for clarification as it seems as if your mother isn't making a proposal, but a rule.
"Do I get a say in this?"
"No." she replies firmly, "While you're under this house, I'm going to do what's best and I feel that this is best for both of us. Of course, I don't want you to feel uncomfortable enough that you can't get used to this new lifestyle, so there will obviously be some room for adjustments."
Silence reigns in again for a several seconds as you continue to process what this means for you. You hear your mother switch tones as she grows softer.
"James, I know this is sudden and...I'm sure you know that I don't express myself a lot. I want you to grow up to be independent, but I realized that maybe I pushed you too far. This may seem unreasonable, but...I do love you. I love you so much, so please do this for me...for us."
Hearing those words fills you up with warmth. Obviously, she isn't giving you a choice here, but this still is far from something she'd be get away with if you protest firmly back. What do you do?
