This choice: Alex the Flareon  •  Go Back...
Chapter #4

Alex

    by: Unknown
You don a white t-shirt concealed under a leather duster, crafted with the hide of a tauros and reinforced with the scales of a feraligator. You fiddle with the rifle in your hands, the notches carved into the side numbering twenty-seven.

You are Alex, a Flareon. You have a real name, but everyone just calls you 'Alex'. Though a youth of 24, you've become the unofficial head honcho of the small village of Tiron by virtue of your marksmanship and intelligence. The story of Tiron is a sad one. It was set up by refugees but months ago, just some of the millions who were misplaced by the war. The village consisted mostly of slapped-together brick buildings and tents, but its primary feature is the Wall. The Wall is made up of an amalgamation of brick, wood and scrap metal, its roof covered in barbed wire and its border protected by wooden spikes. The Wall is the only thing between your humble village and the massive wild Pokémon that lurk outside.

You were sitting on a small little chair- which your ass was way too big to be sitting in comfortably- guarding the one way in and out of the village, a big hole in the Wall dubbed 'the gate'. You could hear snoring coming from above. You groan. Looks like your sentry's out cold again.

You smack the butt of your rifle against the ceiling a few times. "Guraena! No sleeping on the job!"

"Huh? Oh! Sorry, sorry.." you hear from above. Guraena was your fellow day guard, a 23 year old Mightyena. She manned the machine gun mounted on the Wall, mostly because she was too inexperienced to be trusted with anything else. You don't like Guraena very much. She had too much of an appetite, shoving multiple critters down her throat with a fervor come mealtime even when food supplies were low. She also didn't take her job as seriously as was warranted, only wearing any armor at all because you forced her to, as she preferred to go naked.

"I can't see much from here, so I'm trusting you to keep an eye out for them! See if they're not sending out a smoke signal or something. Can you not handle that?" you lecture. Tough times have hit the village recently. Just a week ago, the crew in charge of hunting went out for a routine trip, and never returned. They were supposed to arrive back days ago, but you haven't seen any sign of them. You want to believe that they're still alive, just lost, but part of you is starting to believe that they ran into some wild Pokemon that was too powerful for them, and the whole team got devoured. The only things that could do that were either a large group of wild predators or- you shudder to think- a legendary.

If that's the case, that would mean you don't have a hunting party anymore. You, Guraena, and whatever villagers you could convince to volunteer would have to take up going out on hunts if you want the village to survive. You would also need to figure out what killed your hunting party, and take it out to keep the area secure.

No matter which way you look at it, it's tough times ahead for Tiron.

You have the following choices:

1. Continue with this Character

2. Use Guraena's point of view instead
