Chrissy, having already had too much to drink, stumbled excitedly into – whatever restaurant this was. She was starving!
“I promise you’re gonna love this, Chris!” slurred her longtime best friend Rebecca.
Chrissy smirks as they pushed through the doors, still not really aware of what food her friends had in mind. “So, my husband thinks he gets to have a good time and not tell me about it? We’re gonna party all night, ladies!” Chrissy shouted as her entourage entered the restaurant.
In her later mid-life, Chrissy couldn’t help but develop a “pooch,” as she called it, though the reality was it was a bit of a spilling muffin top.
“Victor thinks he gets to have fun and tell me what to do? Then tonight let’s keep going wild!” Chrissy slurred as the five of them sauntered into the restaurant. They didn’t wait to be seated. Instead, they claimed a plush, corner booth. Her friend, Alice, the youngest of the crew, gave a knowing nod to the staff and they didn’t ask any questions.
Chrissy’s friends were mostly fatter than she was. She had always written it off as something about being single, instead of married to some fleabag. She all but bit her tongue in anger over that cheating bastard. Oh, what she’d do if she had her way with him and everyone like him.
She reined in her thoughts, even in her foggy state of mind. As she did, Angie, Ella, Niko, and Selene all looked around with barely contained wonder while Alice lounged and smirked.
A waiter – nervous, being new, but doing his best to be professional – approached their table. “Welcome to ‘Tinies,’ ladies. Have any of you been in with us before?”
Alice’s hand immediate shot up, as did Rebecca's. Selene cautiously raised her hand, too, mumbling something to herself in Spanish.
“Then, would I,” the waiter faltered for a moment. “Should I walk you through what we have to offer tonight?”
Alice nearly bared her teeth with a devious grin. Her belly growled, but she glanced over at Chrissy: the pre – uh – princess of the hour. “Oh, yes please. Tell us what you have ready for us today.”
