Asking Michelle Not To Be Barefoot

"Look, you need to, I mean. Ahem..." You clears your throat, trying to muster some sort of authority about you. "Michelle - your shoes...you need to have them...on."
Your cute colleague raises her eyebrows at you, before dropping her other shoe off completely and releasing a girlish giggle. "What's wrong James, do you not like my bare feet?" She gives you a coy smile, though there's a dangerous look in her pretty hazel eyes.
"It's just not...appropriate," you say as firmly as possible, keeping your eyes fixed away from the floor, where you can just make out her gorgeous feet sliding around slightly in your peripheral vision. The pink nail varnish glimmers and reflects slightly against the light.
"So you think it's more appropriate that my poor little feet aren't able to breathe? Do you want me to be uncomfortable at work?" She pouts at you.
"No...no. It's just...being barefoot: it's just not...protocol," you finish rather unconvincingly.
"When I was at college, my tutors always let me sit in lectures and seminars barefoot. I just don't understand what the problem is here, James. Unless... what you're really saying is that you find my bare feet and toes too distracting to work near? No offence, but that's your issue rather than mine isn't it?" She stares challengingly at you, a slight look of triumph about her. This girl clearly is used to getting her own way; you find yourself gulping while she continues to speak...
"And my feet are always clean and hygienic: my daddy paid for a maid to pedicure and moisturise them every day when I was fourteen for four years. Since then, I've always taken good care of them. Now I'm back from college I'll probably get another maid hired..." She says not without arrogance.
"It's not that...I mean your feet are nice..." You immediately regret saying this: Michelle seems to sense her prey, as she leans in closer towards you so that you can't help but inhale her sweet perfume.
"Thank you - that's so sweet! So you don't mind me keeping my shoes off then?" She grins at you, sensing victory is near no doubt! A slight tapping sound from her toes bouncing against the office makes you yearn to have another proper look at them...
Realising that you are stepping into her trap, you decide to stay resolute and force yourself to try to act as a mentor would. "No - you... need to put your... shoes back on. As your mentor...I'm asking...no, telling you, to put them on."
Michelle's smile fades as you take this tough stance. Her eyes seem to become cold and hard as she leans back, folding her arms.
"So you're telling me now, huh? What if I don't want to? Does that mean I'm gonna be in trouble?" She says in a bratty tone.
"Look - it's not such a big deal," you speak reasonably. "Just put your shoes back on and no one needs to be in any sort of trouble." You feel some confidence return to you.
Michelle grazes one foot up the chair, spreading her toes; it's impossible not to notice this. Waiting for another few seconds to reply, she seems to be carefully considering what to say to you. Does she comply with your request?
