You've been working at this office for three years, and although life is repetitive and somewhat mundane, you're rather content with your job. However, little did you know that everything was about to change.
You had originally been working under a different manager. When you were hired, Jacinta already worked in the office. Unfortunately, the woman hired alongside you (Denise) hated you upon first sight, and you hated her too. You immediately made friends with Jacinta, to avoid Denise turning her against you too, since the she had already convinced Candice the receptionist and Helena the janitor that you were the scum of the earth.
Unfortunately, Jacinta had developed a bit of a crush on you, and while you did not feel the same, you were still friendly with her. Jacinta and the other receptionist, Jenny, we're your only female friends in the office. Most people working there were men anyway. That was until your new manager came in a week ago.
Kim - she had been transferred from another branch of the company, and when she arrived, she had fired half of the office, and you were the only man that remained.
Kim had hired several more people, all women, and you had befriended some of them, but you hadn't really got to know any of them. It didn't help that most of them were friends with Denise, but a few of them knew that she hated you, and we're a little sympathetic to you.
You arrived at work on Monday morning, and we're greeted by Jenny at the reception at her desk.
"Good morning Rob!" Jenny chirped, smiling at you sweetly.
"Morning Jenny." You smiled back at her. You didn't have a crush on her or anything, but you couldn't deny that she was rather cute, and had a nice smile.
You made your way to your desk, where you ran into Kim. You internally rolled your eyes, as she looked up at you from the tablet in he hands.
"Ah Rob. I'd like to talk to you about some rearrangements I've made to the office." Kim told you, placing her tablet in her bag, and pushing her glasses up.
"What do you mean?" You ask her, trying to hide the annoyance in your voice.
"The old office layout wasn't productive, so I've decided to rearrange where everyone's desk is." Kim explained.
"Wait, so who's sat near me?" You ask her.
