Nick desperately wanted to go into the morgue and hear what people were saying to his corpse. However, Nick knew that it would be far too crowded for him to try and sneak into the room his body was resting in its coffin. Nick also knew from experience that the door he would have to open to get to his old body was in plain view of the whole room, but a round knob is too difficult for him to open.
Nick ran out into the graveyard and hides behind the tombstones before carefully looking around and using all of his senses to make sure no one was near him. Nick spotted an open grave and knew that was where he would be buried in there and creeps over to a nearby tree, waited for the funeral procession to exit the building. Nick eyed the sky, see his mother still circling overhead obviously afraid to draw closer seeing the scattered human that was working at preparing Nick's grave sight.
