This choice: Nick and his brother fight over were to go, • Go Back...Chapter #6A Disagreement at Midnight by: Ctbro Nick felt his body shift. He knew, almost intuitively, that it was his brother, but even still, it felt like an unknown force was trying to pull him up from the inside. The tugging came from the muscles, the core, of his and his brother's body as his dragon twin attempted to stand. Immediately, Nick attempted to help. He pushed with his foreleg and hind leg so that they now stood on all four of their clawed feet.
'Wow... This feels weird.' he commented, though only unintelligible squeaks came out from his mouth. Nick could only feel and control his half of the body. It felt like he was being held aloft only by leaning into an invisible wall. His brother's half of their body being that invisible force since he had no sensation or control of it.
A few squeaks came from his brother. Nick felt another tug as the 'invisible wall' he was leaning into pulled him forward. He and his brother stumbled a few steps forward, like a drunk in the bar, before falling flat on their belly. 'Hey, watch it!' Nick tried to say, but only squeaks came out. Nick wondered if dragons could not speak aloud like humans could.
However, this thoughts were derailed when his dragon twin nipped him in the shoulder. 'Ouch!' Nick squeaked as he narrowed his eyes. In retaliation, Nick bit at his twin's neck. Not hard enough to do any real damage, but just enough to make his brother squeak. It was childish, and Nick knew it. But, he could not help feeling a sense of happy revenge when his brother glared at him.
The feeling soon went away when his brother fought back. The two of them rolled around in the dirt nipping and clawing at one another. It was not enough to leave any real injuries, but it still hurt none the less. Though after awhile, Nick found himself and his brother just rolling around in the dirt, seemingly for fun.
Breathing heavily, the two of them rolled back onto their belly. He and his brother breathed in an out in sync, despite their heavy rough play. Nick spotted the dish he had seen earlier, and he pointed his head towards it. His brother seemed to understand the cue, and they disjointly walked over to the bowl.
Standing over the water bowl, Nick paused for a moment, thinking he needed something to drink the contents with. The thought disappeared soon though as he and his brother leaned their necks forward to lap of the water. Having drank their fill, he and his brother disjointly walked back to their spot in the hay. They curled up and laid their heads beside one another to sleep again. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
