"I'd like to hear more about the missions." you say.
She nods and gets up. You reluctantly leave the comfort of the couch and follow as she leads you out of the room, towards the other side of the building. You pass by several windows, and see that the area appears to be some kind of laboratory. There are several Erimosi working on different projects. They all stop and look as you walk by.
“This is where we do most of our work,” Avallala explains. “We’re always trying to find ways to help the humans, and this is where a lot of our ideas are generated.” She effortlessly glides through the near zero g environment. Her delicate form is almost angelic in the way she moves. The robe she wears flows around her in the weightlessness. You catch another glimpse of her attractive curves as she turns to make sure she hasn’t lost you. By now, you are used to the environment and are able to keep up with her easily.
She leads you to a door at the back of a long hallway and opens it, revealing a small, dark room. She flicks on the lights, revealing a large monitor on the wall.
“This is where we keep track of all the data we’ve gathered on the humans,” she explains. “We’re always looking for new ways to help your species, and this is where we keep many of our ideas.”
She scrolls through a few screens before stopping on one. The screen lists various space missions the Erimosi have available:
“These are the missions we’ve been working on for you humans,” she explains. “We’re still trying to figure out what you’re capable of, so we have a few different options.”
The first mission is titled “Habitat Construction”. The objective is to help the Erimosi build a new habitat on a planet they are terraforming.
“We’ve been working on this one for a while,” she admits. “There have been a lot of challenges dealing with the local flora and fauna. I heard humans were quite high on the Yleth scale, which would be helpful for this endeavor.” Seeing your blank stare, she continues. "Meaning you spread across your home planet rather fast."
The second mission is titled “First Contact”. The objective is to help the Erimosi make first contact with another alien species.
“This is a new one that we’ve been working on,” she says. “There are a number of species we are trying to breach the communication wall with, organic and non. We’re not sure if it’s too dangerous or not, but we think you might be able to handle it. Perhaps, a bit of human ingenuity is just what’s needed.”
The third mission is titled “Military Training”. The objective is to help the Erimosi train their military.
“Our military is always in need of new and fresh ideas.” She continues in her soothing alto tenor. “Don’t worry, you won’t see any combat, it would be purely observation and training. There are many departments you could assist in, R&D, exploration, admin, and so on.”
Avallala pauses and looks at you intently. “Well, how does that sound?”
Her speech and movements were so natural, for a moment, you forget that you’re talking to an alien race.
You think for a moment before answering.
