As Alex watched himself in the mirror he noticed his shirt seemed to be getting bigger on him. He quickly climbed down from the stool and looked around the lab until he was able to find a tape measure. Picking it up he was able to measure himself, he was two feet tall exactly. He had lost six inches since he first shrunk himself. His shirt was now touching the floor completely obscuring his legs and feet from view. The top of the shirt was barely hanging onto his arms and he suspected that if he tried to hold his arms down to his side the shirt would fall right off.
To make things worst, the shrinking didn't appear to be stopping there, even as he measured himself at two feet Alex noticed he had gone down a half inch on the tape measure. It did not appear he was going to stop shrinking, at least not soon.
He tried to remember where the Bats-R Ray had landed outside. He needed to get to the ray to reverse the shrinking. If he didn't take care of it soon he might wind up as small as a mouse, maybe even smaller he had no idea when the shrinking was going to stop. He ran for the door to the lab then stopped. A high school could be a pretty dangerous place if he shrunk as small as a mouse, and he was going to have to get down a flight of stairs.
Did he really want to run out there? He wanted to stop the shrinking, but he didn't want to do anything to dangerous. Maybe he should wait for one of his teachers or another student to come into the lab and send them after the ray. Not to mention he didn't even know if he'd be big enough to operate the device by the time he got to it.
Yet, who knew how small he would be by the time help arrived.
