14 year old Jannette was walking in the street just like any girl of her age would, though she wasn't an ordinary teenager, her life took a turn when her parents disappeared in their way back home from a business trip 2 years ago, with no relatives that could take of her and since her father had unpaid debts, she ended up homeless. She was later put in an orphanage, but she escaped from it and ran away to live on her own.
This series of events took her to a city across the country where she asked for money in the streets, though she was already used to this life, she only had a small knife, which she uses to cut her red hair when it gets too long or in case someone tried to do something to her, an old blue dress she received from her parents, back then, it was too big for her but now it fit her perfectly and a jacket and a scarf that were a gift from an old lady.
"Another day, another dollar." Janette counts the coins she was given in the park. Suddenly, she sees how a man drops a small package. She picks it and touches the shoulder of the man. "Excuse me, sir. You dropped this."
"Oh, thank you." The man turns around and sees the bare feet of the girl and the quite used dress and overall, how she looked. "You know, this isn't really important, you can keep it."
"Really?" Janette holds the small box, imagining what it is inside, so she could either eat it or sell it.
"But before you do anything with it, let me show you." The man takes out some sort of gun out of the box. "Now, do you mind following me here?" He points towards an alley. She nods and follows him.
"This is a size ray." He comments. "It can shrink or grow any living being, it also affects objects, but it doesn't work in clothing." He explains. "It also has a age function." But he stops as the redhead laughs at him.
"I'm sorry, sir." She calms. "You are good actor, but I don't believe you." Suddenly, everything turned black for Janette, she didn't know what happened. She leaves a pile of familiar clothing and realizes she was still in the alley, but it was enormous!
"So, you believe me now?" She sees the man staring down at her, Janette realizes she is naked and hides behind her scarf. "I do sir, I believe you!"
"Well, then I guess this is yours now." He shoots at her and Janette starts to grow back. "Have fun." He puts in the ground and walks away.
After dressing up and going back to the park, Janette checks the device. "What should I do with this?"
She stops thinking as someone approaches her.
