Chapter #3I'm Not Saying It Was Aliens by: Rita "Pete, can you come over to my place? Something freaky happened," Read the troubling message from his aunt. Going straight into protective nephew mode, Pete sent a quick worried text back, "Is everything OK? Are you hurt?"
"Nothing like that. I just need someone to talk to. Someone who will understand," Sophia texted back, putting Pete's concerns to rest. Pete, although relieved to hear about his aunt's safety, nevertheless rushed to her house. Something big must have happened Pete thought as he jogged towards his aunts house, Sophia is the most relaxed person I've ever met, she's never said anything like that before. Pete remembered his aunt accidentally cutting her arm on a shard of broken glass. While Pete freaked out, running around Sophia's house trying to find bandages and disinfectant, she just remained calm. "It's just a little gash, Pete," She said, trying to calm her nephew, "Jesus, don't have a heart attack. It'll take a lot more than that to hurt me," Sophia always seemed so cool and collected in Pete's eyes, he wondered what could make her so distressed.
...
"Sophia?" Pete asked out loud, as he entered his aunt's house.
"I'm in here Pete," His aunt's voice answered, coming from her living room. Pete quickly made his way towards her and was greeted with an unexpectedly happy Sophia.
"So what happened?" Pete asked, wondering if he should have gotten so worked up over his seemingly fine aunt.
"Oh jeez," Sophia laughed at her paranoid nephew, "I didn't mean to make you worry. This is something to be excited about, not stress out over."
"What am I supposed to be excited about?" Pete might have been annoyed by his aunt laughing at him, if she didn't do it constantly. He was always the butt of all her jokes. But Pete couldn't complain, since he treated her the same way. His relationship with Sophia was less like aunt and nephew, and more like old friends. Just the way they talked to each other might seem bizarre to strangers. No subject was taboo when they talked, saying whatever came to their minds. Whether it be how many men Sophia has slept with or what kind of porn Pete liked to watch, everything was out in the open. So when Pete asked her a question, he knew he would get a honest answer, just as he always had before.
"Pete, I was abducted by Aliens!" Sophia happily exclaimed. Not the honest answer I was hoping for Pete thought as he gave his aunt the appropriate look when somebody tells you they were attacked by aliens. "Now don't look at me like that," Sophia reprimanded her nephew, "At least listen to me before you get all judgy on me,"
"Dude," Pete looked at his aunt, seeing clearly in her face that she was telling the truth. Or at least what she believed what was the truth. Putting all logic aside, Pete put his respect for his aunt before his better judgement and decided to hear her out. "Alright," Pete sighed, "Tell me about the Aliens, Sophia"
"OK, so it happened last night" Sophia tried to paint Pete a picture, "I was out drinking on my patio, just counting the stars, minding my own business. When out of nowhere, a shining white light came down from the sky and rose me out of my chair! Next thing I know, I'm standing in a room full of Aliens, Pete!"
”Just standing in a room full of Aliens? You weren’t constrained at all?" Pete interrupted, trying to find in the whole of what seemed like an alcohol induced nightmare, "I thought aliens strapped their abducted humans to tables and anal probed them. That didn't happen?"
"You know, I asked them about that," Sophia looked up at ceiling trying to remember more of what happened, "They seem insulted by the question. They said that humans had a very negative attitude towards other sentient species, but that was mostly due to our inferior intellect. I told them it was my turn to be insulted, but they assured me that they consider all life precious and that humans could be great allies."
"Well..." Pete thought of another question to get his aunt out of her fantasy, "What did they look like?"
"They looked like floating jellyfish," Sophia snapped, remembering more and more with each question, "But they were thicker than regular jellyfish. And less translucent. And their tentacles had to be 7 feet long. And they kept changing colors. Like randomly, sometimes they would be blue and other times they would be orange. It was pretty trippy."
"Alright, Sophia" Pete thought of one more question, "Why did they abduct you in the first place?"
"That's the most interesting part, Pete!" Sophia practically yelled, "I asked them what they were doing and they told me they were going to test some new drug of theirs on me. See, on their home planet, they outlawed animal testing and they refuse to test it on their own species. But if they test with a species that doesn't live on their planet, then their government doesn't seem to care too much. They told me that out of the entire planet, I was only human compatible with their new drug. I was hesitant at first, but they told me I could help billions of their kind if they just shot me up with some goo. I eventually gave in and they put this weird stuff into my bloodstream. Then I passed out and woke up in my backyard. Guess how the drug is supposed to work!"
"Does it make you you tell very long lies to you nephews?" Pete was amazed, hearing his reasonable aunt say such ridiculous nonsense.
"No, you little brat," Sophia smirked, "The drug lets me...
