Jack was looking forward to today; he was finally getting to explore the Forest that had long-since enthralled him with fantastic (if mischievous) creatures and occurrences. It was not often that someone would willingly enter the Forest without an armed escort, or without a carriage or horse, or at the very least some knowledge of what the Forest held inside. Jack saw no need for such things- he was a capable young man, and could more than handle anything the Forest threw at him as he continued on his journey.
Though he was not an adventurer (yet, spoke a voice in the back of his mind), Jack liked to imagine himself on a Quest, through a dangerous dungeon. While that is perhaps overdoing it, it was true that he had a purpose as he delved further into the Woods--
