Ah yes..

If it weren't for these games, we wouldn't have the anime OR the manga, now would we? ;)

Now before we can choose the characters, we'll have to choose which games the stories'll take place in.

[Before anyone asks, the choices won't include remakes or spin-offs. Also, I won't include "Pokemon Yellow" since it's inspired by the anime, so it'd probably be redundant]
