Cafeteria

“Are you alright?”

Normally, Miku would’ve had a nasty look on paw for any human servants that she’d catch ogling her behind, maybe a good bop on the back of their necks with her tail, for good measure, but the small, wiry-looking man stared with such intensity but a breath’s distance from her plump behind that it provoked some remote sense of concern for him.

“Mm-hmm.” Marc murmured, only slightly lucid to the fact that somebody was nearby.

Miku observed him a few more seconds, uncomfortably noticing how his eyes barely moved to meet hers, then turned around to open the cafeteria door...only to flinch back with a squeak as the human shoved himself right in front of her and strode ahead.

In the early hours, Marc had enough space around the other fighters’ cumbersome girth’s that he had enough space to freely dodge and run around them, his relatively skinny frame able to scramble by without making too much noise.

The cafeteria’s servers didn’t even have enough time to smile when Marc seemingly materialized right in front of them and began grabbing straight from the bar, not even caring what he was taking as long as it was edible and available.

“Hurry, hurry, hurry!” Marc mentally chanted as he plopped a handful of ketchup packets on his tray, desperate to be in and out before an y prying eyes could notice his presence. A bowl of chili followed next, a bottle of water after, then just a raw ladleful of mayonnaise that he hastily slapped on his plate before finally pulling himself away, prepared to make one more beeline out the door and to his storage close-

SPLURTCH

Marc didn’t have a chance to look ahead before striking something face first, tasting the plastic of his tray as he was partially embedded into something incredibly wide, large, and too soft to be a wall or a support beam. Peeking over the rim of his tray, Marc fearfully backed away, his fingers shakily allowing it to fall and clatter amongst the chili and mayonnaise splattered on the ground, much of the same that was now smeared across the belly of his massive victim...
