She could feel her shirt start to cling around and pull on her upper body as her belly continued to grow. She was really starting to get fatter. Deciding that she was no longer worried about what her mother would say, as she was more convinced that she wouldn't say or do anything, she worked up the courage to ask for new clothes.
"So, umm." Fumiko started, trying to sound innocent, "My clothes are getting a little small, and I was thinking we should go clothes shopping before school starts up next month."
"Hmm, alright. My clothes are starting to get a little snug too." Her mother said, "Finish breakfast and we'll go to the mall together. It seemed like we were buying new clothes for your sister every other week when she was about your age."
Fumiko wasn't expecting that. She'd thought that her mother would throw a fit and brag about how she was right that Fumiko would get fat. Instead, she hadn't said anything about it, not that she was complaining.
She finished breakfast and they set off for the mall, Fumiko still not sure what her mother was doing about her weight. Her mother wasn't saying anything about it, but she wasn't acting like she was doing anything. She was always quiet and didn't say much. Fumiko hadn't expected much from her mother, but now she wondered if she would actually do anything about it at all.
They spent the next couple of hours shopping for outfits, and Fumiko couldn't help noticing that her mother kept picking out larger and larger clothes for Fumiko. It was almost like she was planning on Fumiko getting fatter. Surely she had to realize that Fumiko was getting fatter. Still, Fumiko couldn't deny that she was actually having a good time with her mother.
