When she ermerged back out onto the shop floor downstairs, Charlotte was quickly approached by Rebekah, who seemed concerned... even apprehensive about something. "Charlotte, something weird just happened, you should have seen it..." the blonde employee started in a frantic tone.
"Let me guess, colors all around you and a chill up your spine?" Charlotte responded, a frown still etched on her face.
"How did you..." Rebekah gasped.
"It happened to me upstairs while I was in the toilets." Charlotte explained. "I thought I was tripping at first, but when that shiver went up my spine and into my head, I don't know... I just have this terrible feeling something bad is going to happen." she continued.
"Me too!" Rebekah nodded slowly, glancing around.
The two of them caught sight of Nicola and Rob, working on their respective aisles, and they looked a little 'confused' as well. Clearly, whatever had just happened - had occurred throughout the entire store.
Suddenly, the click clack of high heels heralded Elizabeth's arrival nearby. Charlotte immediately made a move towards the toiletries section, not wanting to get told off for 'slacking' again. But she was curious... She stopped and instead waited for her manager to round the corner. Then she decided to ask her something. "Did something strange just happen to you?"
Elizabeth's eyes narrowed a little, she seemed edgy too. "Define 'strange'." she said.
"A display of colors all around, a cold shiver up your spine into your head, and a feeling deep down that something is going to happen." Charlotte repeated herself.
Elizabeth didn't immediately reply. "Yes, but don't be concerned. It might be the faulty air conditioning releasing fumes or something. I've phoned head office and asked them to send someone out tomorrow to look at it." she said to Charlotte. "I've also told Liz to get a few carbon monoxide detectors off the shelf and to get one of the lads to fit them on the ceiling through the shop."
"Fumes?" Charlotte mumbled incredulously.
"Just get back to work please Charlotte. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about." Elizabeth sighed, before walking away and behind the Help Desk to check something on the computer.
Charlotte just shook her head, shrugged... and rolled her eyes at Rebekah.
