"Alright, I'm gonna make this pencil disappear." Trucy said dramatically, holding up an ordinary yellow number two for Apollo to see. The defense attorney raised an eyebrow skeptically as she set it on the center table. While Athena went out to get lunch, Trucy had offered to show him a quick magic trick.
It was a sweltering summer day in LA. Conditions weren't much better in the office. The air-conditioning was broken, leaving it as muggy inside as it was out. The only source of relief was a single oscillating fan they'd found in the closet. Undeterred by the heat, the teenage magician cheerily held up the Magic Panties. She flung from them a small white cloud of powder over the pencil. Perfect execution. She and Apollo leaned on the table as the dust began to settle.
"And it's..." Trucy said expectantly, grinning as the dust almost touched the pencil.
As if on cue, the fan spun in their direction. It blew the powder right in their faces. In an instant they were...
"... Gone?" Trucy said in a small voice. She and Apollo were standing on the expansive glass tabletop. Before them was the pencil, now easily a hundred feet long. It matched them in height as well. Or Apollo anyway. Proportionally, he was still a few inches taller than Trucy. They were both, however, about a quarter of an inch tall.
