-A story route requested by another user-
The group didn't have many ideas in regards to where exactly they might be as they walked. The black floor beneath their feet was quite solid, but they could feel a gradual slope in it as they traversed its wide surface. Even beyond that, after the surface appeared to end, there was little they could see to give them any clues. And the area beyond was massive...
Up above them, there was only a dark ceiling, what seemed like hundreds of feet up.
They were getting fairly close to the red-coloured pillar that Apollo had indicated.
"Do you smell something?" Trucy asked at one point in their walk.
Her father glanced around. "There's... kind of a stale smell around here, yeah." he said.
Once they were within a hundred yards or so of the pillar, there was a distant rumble. Like an earthquake, but far away from their position.
"What was that...?" Apollo asked, voicing what everyone was wondering.
"Oh, wait... maybe..."
Pearl moved toward the couch, wondering to herself why she hadn't thought to look there earlier. She'd somehow lost track of her sandals when she and Maya visited the Wright Anything Agency the day before, and had gone back to their hotel in a pair of shoes she'd borrowed from Trucy. She crouched to the floor to check for her dropped sandals and smiled when she spotted the pair lying on the floor beneath the couch. They must have been knocked into the gap somehow.
"I found them!" she said over her shoulder to Maya, who was looking over the room to find any sign of its usual occupants.
"Great!" she said. After a moment, she added, "... Where's everyone else? I expected to see Apollo and Athena in here, at least..."
Pearl tugged her sandals out from beneath the couch and replied, "Maybe they're upstairs?'
Maya shrugged. "I guess that's as good a guess as any. You wanna go and look up there? I could go back outside."
On the expansive space that Pearl's dropped sandal had become for the shrunken group, they were scrambling for safety as a colossal shape loomed over them. They couldn't quite identify it, but the terrifying object approaching them was just one of Pearl's bared feet, ready to slip back into its place in the sandal.
"C-c'mon, run-!!" Athena shouted, trying to hasten the group's movements. They weren't going to make it...
-WHAM-
In an instant, they all collapsed to the floor, their helplessly tiny bodies completely unable to withstand the strength of the massive weight coming down on them. They were shocked to still be alive, but now they couldn't move so much as an inch. The four of them each wriggled uselessly against the rough ground, desperate for some way to escape.
Totally unaware that she'd just trapped four of her friends underneath her mildly sweaty sole, Pearl got to her feet. Now that she was back in her sandals, she was happy to go out and look for her friends. She didn't even notice the pitiful struggles going on beneath her foot.
