Being forcibly picked up a second time was no less unpleasant than when it had first happened back in the courthouse. Edgeworth struggled against the powerful grip that Ms. Yew's thin fingers took on his body, but he was much too small to meaningfully fight back. Yew lifted him out of her pocket and back into the light, and after a moment for his eyes to adjust, Edgeworth found himself in what appeared to be a fairly classy hotel room. He'd stayed in nicer places, but this certainly didn't appear cheap. For one brief moment, he tried to guess at which hotel this was before shaking his head, recognizing that he had much bigger concerns.
"Welcome home, Edgeworth." he heard Yew say from above, her voice back to its cool, measured tone. It was unsettling how quickly she could shift between that tone of voice and breathless laughter. "Well, home for now, at least. Not like I'm staying here forever."
She deposited him on top of a dresser, and Edgeworth checked himself over as she turned and stepped away. The sight of such a gigantic figure moving so quickly was surreal. It felt like he was observing a scene through a hidden camera, rather than really standing here on top of a dresser, his body reduced to a puny size.
Across the vast space, Calisto unbuttoned and removed the teal suit jacket she wore, leaving a wine-red shirt and white tie. She discarded the tie next, stepping out of her shoes as well, but fortunately stopped removing her clothing from there. For just a moment, Edgeworth had begun to fear that she was simply going to undress right in front of him.
Of course, having slightly fewer pieces of clothing on did little to reduce Ms. Yew's imposing scale as she walked back toward him. Her eyes were fixed elsewhere as she detached her large earrings and set them down near his position. Finally, her gaze returned to Edgeworth himself. He swallowed a nervous breath, hoping the sight wasn't visible. Showing signs of fear wouldn't improve his situation.
She raised a hand to her mouth, snickering as she looked down at him.
"You look ridiculous..." she muttered, continuing her effort to stifle a fit of giggles. Edgeworth groaned, trying to maintain eye contact for now. He wasn't going to let this woman openly mock him without resistance. "Seriously, did von Karma dress you personally? You almost look as absurd as he does, but at least he's ancient anyway. The rotting vampire look matches the stupid clothes...!"
That was the end of her effort not to break into laughter again. Edgeworth turned away, looking down at the solid surface of the dresser as Calisto's laughter began to assault his senses, even more loud and disruptive than normal.
Once she calmed down, Calisto wiped a tear from her eye and set one hand down on the dresser, near where Edgeworth was standing.
"So," she prompted him, "how're you doing? It must've been a bit bumpy getting over here with me."
For a second, Edgeworth considered whether he wanted to respond or not. This woman was unpredictable, and she would probably continue to mock him either way. He took a breath.
"Ms. Yew. By now I can confidently state that you've admitted to or committed in front of me enough crimes to land you in prison for the rest of your life."
Calisto's expression was unchanging, and Edgeworth continued, "You can't possibly expect to evade capture nor keep my abduction a secret for particularly long, and for that reason I caution you to-"
He was interrupted by the noisy sound of Calisto muffling another laugh with her palm. The corners of her mouth were visibly twitching upward.
"Y-you're actually not getting it yet...?" she inquired in apparent disbelief. "I've got seriously powerful friends, Edgeworth. No one else has any idea that I've got you here, and no one who matters has a chance in hell of finding us here."
The confidence in her voice was so complete that Edgeworth faltered, just moments ago ready to retort. He privately cursed his moment of hesitation, but it was too late.
"As soon as I shrunk you down like this, 'Prosecutor Edgeworth' went away. Understand? He's not there anymore, and hey, he's not even here in this hotel room."
Edgeworth blinked. Ms. Yew was laying obvious bait in front of him, but for now he had to take it.
"Very well, I'll bite. What are you saying?" he asked.
Calisto raised her head slightly, now peering down at him over the bridge of her nose.
"I'll make this short. There is no 'Prosecutor Edgeworth' in this room. There's just me... and a new toy."
It took all the resolve Edgeworth had in him not to flinch. "Toy"? This woman honestly expected to be able to turn him into a plaything of hers? The idea was ridiculous, not to mention insulting. There was no way she could...
A moment passed, Calisto leaning slightly down toward him. Having broken eye contact, Edgeworth blinked, his mind beginning to accelerate.
... Perhaps there was some chance that Ms. Yew might be in a position to make good on that promise. As far as he knew, no one had witnessed their departure from the courthouse.
"Hm. Y'know, Edgeworth..."
He looked upward again, doing his best not to show any signs of nervousness despite the frantic thoughts beginning to take root in his mind.
"It's actually your fault you ended up in this situation."
She produced something from out of view. It was the Yatagarasu's Key, the very same item she had used to murder Byrne Faraday a matter of hours ago.
"Key, knife - it's actually got three functions."
Edgeworth's vision was beginning to blur slightly. He didn't spot how she did it, but by some means or another, Calisto reshaped the Key into a form vaguely reminiscent of a tiny pistol.
"The third is the best kept secret of all. A little backup weapon for if a job went completely beyond repair. Of course, the original idea was for me to shrink myself for just long enough to get out of view or escape, but nobody ever said it couldn't be used on a troublesome prosecutor."
There was a sort of ringing sound in his ears. Edgeworth's knees nearly buckled beneath him.
"That's right. I see you're catching on - you brought this right back to me, and that was the moment you became my new toy." Calisto said, stowing the Key back in a pocket out of sight. "Nice of you to make it so easy after a long day."
With that, Calisto turned on her heel and walked away from the dresser again, heading for a door to what was presumably the bathroom. Once she was gone, Edgeworth stumbled in place, catching himself on the solid surface of the dresser. His body was starting to shake, no matter how hard he fought it.
Calisto Yew now had complete control of his life, and that terrified him more than anything.
