Jessica was in a rush as she left the mall, her bags full of clothes as usual. She let out a frustrated grunt when he phone started ringing and she was unable to answer it. "Damn it!" She sighed, as she made her way along the sidewalk, expertly dodging a few people as she tried to locate her car in the parking lot.
Everything that was on her mind however went away for a while when she heard a commotion someway down the street. She and several other people noticed a man running in their direction, obviously being chased as he kept running behind him. When he was almost where Jessica was, he tripped and went sprawling on the floor.
Some kind of device flew out of his pocket and landed at Jessica's hi-top clad feet. The man either didn't see if drop, or didn't care, as he instantly picked himself up and started running again. A minute later, two men in black suits also ran by, slowly gaining on the exhausted man. By this time however, Jessica had picked up the device at her feet and had got into her car. What's this thing? She wondered, inspecting the thing, which resembled a remote of some kind. However it only had one button. And along the top, in white bold lettering - Swapmaster 2.0.
Noticing a grey square near the bottom of the device, Jessica placed her thumb on it... and it highlighted.. sending a small electric shock through her. "Whu... OUCH!" She cried out. But then a hidden, narrow screen appeared at the top and a message scrolled across it before disappearing. NEW USER REGISTERED...
A torrent of information suddenly entered Jessica's mind as she sat there, pressed into her car seat and her eyes rolling up into her head for a minute or so. Then her body relaxed, breathing heavily. On the plus side, she now knew that what she had in her possession... was a Trait Swapper, a device that could exchange people's body parts.
"Holy crap!" Jessica mumbled, eyeing up the device, which was now connected to her mind, and hers alone. All she had to do now was point... think.. and swap away.
A sinister little smirk appeared on her face as she peered out the window of her car.
