Ryan was your average 13 year old boy, well almost. Ryan was always a bit small for his age barely coming in at 5 foot tall.
He had short, blonde hair, piercing blue eyes and he was thin as a rail. Summer vacation had just started and he had already started complaining about being bored around the house where he spent most of his time alone with his dad often out of town on work trips.
One day, Ryan decided to head downtown where he came across this small shop he had never seen before.
He walked into the dimly lit storefront and saw a bunch of random and spooky mystical artifacts. As he looked around his eyes became fixated on a ring in the diaplay counter which featured a silver dragon like design with a bright red stone in its center.
"That ring is unlike anything you've ever seen before," a gravely and grave voice said.
Startled, Ryan stumbled back as an frail old man walked from out of the shadows and behind the counter.
"This ring has the ability to change one's fate."
"Oh, is it some sort of lucky charm?" Ryan asked.
"It's far more powerful than that son. This ring has the ability to turn the meekest of boys into men and the most mightly of warriors into boys."
"Huh, sounds cool. Is it for sale?"
"For you, it's on the house."
"Thank you sir, but I have money to pay you for it as it surely is worth a lot."
"Nonsense, I want you to have it. Just remember not to abuse it's power."
"Yes, sir," Ryan said taking the ring and leaving the store.
