Leaving Things Be

Scott took a deep breath to calm down. There was a chance he was getting worked up over nothing. He had been the one to design the formula. When he had synthesised it for himself, the goal had been only to grow an inch taller. Maybe two inches if the formula worked really well.
But knowing all Scott knew about his invention, it was scientifically impossible for it to cause anyone to grow much more than that. From Scott’s estimations, it looked like Jessica had almost reached that threshold. So it was highly likely that whatever fluke occurrence that had caused the formula to work for his girlfriends younger sister, and not for himself, would soon taper out.
Scott felt a wave of relief as he slowly began to convince himself in his own theory. He had messed up. But if he didn’t overreact here and stayed calm, things should be okay.
Resigned to his decision tagging the best course of action was no action, Scott discreetly disposed of the other shampoo bottle that Jessica had ordered. Eager to get rid of any more evidence that might expose his mistake. With that done Scott only had to set his mind upon forgetting this whole thing had ever happened.
