Lacy couldn't let anyone find out about this! If the director found out that the chemical could impact human DNA, he would be forced to end the project immediately.
Lacy went to the lab, took a swab to the inside of her cheek, and put it in the sample container. She found a previous cell sample in the refrigerated storage. She ran tests on both to identify any changes.
The junk DNA in the new sample seemed realigned, duplicating sequences that normally controlled for other things--physical appearance, intelligence, height, strength. It was as if it had double the DNA to code for those things. What would that do? Magnify all of them somehow? She didn't know. As far as she and anyone else knew, junk DNA wasn't normally used for anything by the body's cells.
She looked at her flawless skin. Her cells sure seemed to be using the altered sequences now! She didn't know how long it would take for the full extent of the changes to manifest. Every cell in the human body was replaced over the course of seven years, However, some cells cycled within days. It was also possible that the DNA alterations would change the life cycle of her cells, accelerating change throughout her body. Given the noticeable changes that she had already observed, her increasingly toned abs, swollen breasts, and improved skin, it seemed likely that the changes would be a matter of days or weeks, not months or years.
She would need to do more testing, but she couldn't draw attention to it here at the lab, so she slipped several stoppered tubes of the chemical compound and some cell samples into the pockets of her lab coat and departed.

Lacy began to put the test tubes and cell samples in her refrigerator, when her door buzzer sounded.
She checked the camera--it was her younger sister, Lucy and her friend Veronica! Lacy pressed the button to let her in.
Crap! Lacy had forgotten her sister and her attractive friend were coming today to interview her for one of their college projects. She went to the fridge and hurriedly finished putting her lab supplies away. In haste, she didn't notice that a bottle of wine was leaning in from the door. When she closed it, the leaning bottle bumped one of the test tubes, displacing the stopper and causing the liquid to dribble down to the apples on the shelf below.
Lacy greeted Lucy and Veronica when they arrived at her door. As they settled in the living room, withdrawing pads and pens from their backpacks, Lucy said, "I'm starving! Before we get started, do you have any snacks, Lace?"
"Sure," Lacy said, "Grab whatever you want from the kitchen."
Lucy opened the refrigerator and perused the options. She had an amazing body nearly as nice as her sister's, and she tried to keep it that way, so she typically ate very healthy. She grabbed two apples, taking a large bite from one before tossing the other to Veronica.
