It had been a few months since Maya had recovered from the murderous adventure in the Hazakura Mountains, and as much as she enjoyed working with Nick she had redoubled her efforts to become to next Master of Kurain Village, and to train her powers as much as necessary. It had been a grueling few weeks, but early that day her hard work had been rewarded with a lunch break and a package addressed to her. The small box didn't have a name for who sent it, and the note inside only described the effects of the item within: a remote with the ability to change anything. It could swap people's bodies, leaving them aware of it or not, let her possess people, shapeshift anyone into anyone else, force people to follow her commands, switch people's personalities around, and make the entire world shift around as if two people had the life of the other. Not only that, but the pointer was just for convenience: if she had a person's name and face in mind she could use the remote on them from anywhere. It gave her almost unlimited power...and how should she use it?
[[I'm aware Personality and Life Swaps aren't a part of this story's rules, but I got the author's okay for just this storyline. Basically, Personality Swap works exactly like it does in Ace Attorney Changing Remote: both participants get the other's personality, skills, interests, etc but remember that it's not normal. Life Swap is another aware swap, one where the universe reshapes to make each person have the life of the other without changing their personality. So if Phoenix and Edgeworth switched lives, Phoenix would now be a prosecutor who lost his father as a child and was raised by von Karma and has a long win record, but he'd still be known as a bluffing attorney who flies by the seat of his pants. Oh, and I added the infinite range for giggles.]]
