Follow Aya, Angelica and Anni checking fruit

Angelica checked a freshly-plucked fruit to make sure it was fresh, and placed it in her deerskin bag with the others. Anni and Aya followed her example, smelling each fruit they picked from the orchard trees and bushes. Unlike any fruits today, the fruit they gathered was plump and dark blue, growing in large bunches on the trees while red berries covered the bushes. The fruit always came in huge bushels every spring and many animals fed on it, and Aya's family made sure to gather all the ripest fruit they could.

For Aya, the fruit they gathered was probably her second favorite food in the world besides mammoth meat, especially when it was fresh-picked and juicy. Just looking at it in her hands made her rotund stomach rumble like a hungry cave lion. Her mother probably wouldn't be happy if she got caught eating their fruit while picking it, but just ONE couldn't hurt...

Quickly looking to make sur her mother and sister weren't paying attention, Aya held one of the blue fruits to her mouth and slowly took a big, greedy bite out of it. She immediately cooed in delight at its sweet, ripe flavor, purplish juice trickling down her chin as she ate up more of it, soon gulping down the last bite and patting her hefty middle. Only a moment later, Aya's belly growled for more.

"I gotta have more! But..." She looked back at Anni and her mom. How could she hide it from them...?
