"THERE you are, brother!" She booms out overhead as her face tilts down towards you, stuck on a massive body you can't compare to anything but buildings. She bends her knees in a crouch as she reaches down to pick you up, and you watch with a degree of shock and panic as her goliath-sized fingers crash into the dirt around you. They contract into a pinch, and there's a second of vertigo as you're both lifted thousands of feet in the air and flipped onto her massive, cushy palm. You can't stop shaking as you stand on her outstretched, dirty hand, right at chest level and still gazing UP to look your sister in her caring, if completely dominating, face.
She apparently feels the vibrations, because she smiles and lets out another booming comment. "Oh, stop it, brother, you know that you'll never get hurt in my pick-ups! Seriously, show a little courage!" She sounds caring, but you can't help it- it's scary having your sister pick you up all the time, you're just not used to it!
Wait, what? "All the time"? What the hell was that? You stop staring at your sister to shake your head. Why does everything feel so... natural? Your sister was a GIANTESS, for God's sake, why was she comfortable with that? Why would ANYONE be comfortable with that?
You think about how to reply to her, when she speaks first. "We need to hurry though, brother, the ritual is starting soon!"
You decide that rather than ask her what the heck she's talking about, you should probably just roll with it and try to find out more about what situation you're in. Keeping your balance steady with her reverberating footfalls, you carefully approach the edge of the palm and look out.
You cannot believe your eyes. Where before there was nothing but an empty plain, village huts now dot the ground. They're standard wooden structures, some made with cloth material, some not, but no matter how primitive, there is definitely a civilization here. People in small amounts of clothing walk around on the ground, and even more amazingly, none of them seem to react at all to your sister's gigantic footfalls. She also seems to be avoiding them expertly, as if this is something she's been doing for years...
You look farther out, and you can see where your sister is headed- a clearing at which a large number of people are gathered. What else do you notice?
