As Sam's new family took him home, Kai squirmed around in his seat excitedly. Kai's parents were both very happy that their son was so excited to have a dog. He had been asking about getting one for months. What they didn't know was that Kai had BIG ideas. It all started a few years ago, when Kai was about 8. He saw a cartoon in which a character fattened up their pet dog until he was a big, squishy blob of blubber big enough to lay down on. The image stuck in his mind, and every time he saw that episode he would lean in close and gaze at the screen during that part, imagining how it would feel to snuggle up to all that furry fat. Time and time again, he's find an episode of a cartoon where a character packs on pounds, but they always find a way to shed it all by the end of the episode, leaving Kai disappointed and wondering "Why can't they just stay fat? It looks cool!" But nothing would top the excitement he'd feel when it was a dog, or any animal for that matter.
A year ago, when his parents first mentioned that they had thought about getting a pet, Kai's mind immediately flew to that scene with the boy laying on top of his fattened dog. Could he achieve that? Could he even have a chubby dog? Kai wasn't dumb, he knew that his parents wouldn't get a dog just so he could fatten it into oblivion, but what if... Kai then began to bring up how much he wanted a dog, and now he had one!
Kai down at Sam, who was still resting in his lap. He was thin. Not dangerously so, but Kai could feel his ribs. As he stroked Sam behind the ears, Kai imagined how it would feel if his hands were running through rolls of blubber, squishing them between his fingers, or how heavy Sam would feel in his lap if he was so big his belly hoisted his legs off the ground. "Soon, boy." Kai whispered.
"Huh?" Kai's mother said from the front seat.
"Oh, just telling Sam we'll be home soon!" Kai said as embarrassment flushed his cheeks slightly red. "By the way, what's for dinner?"   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
