The cub flew straight into the crowd, vanishing into the masses. The rowdy supporters were quick to pile on the mockery, pushing him to the floor and shoving him back towards the ring, with Henriette calmly waiting for her opponent. Simba wanted to flee. He knew he was utterly outmatched and fighting the hippo would only see him humiliated further. He looked around to see Timon and Pumbaa, but the crowd was too thick to let him see them. They were trying to get the vulture to call off the fight or at least stop the audience from doing Henriette's work. Suddenly a strangely familiar voice was heard near the little lion.
"Stop, you're not to interfere with these fighters! Just because he was thrown out of the ring doesn't mean he's done. Not in this neck of the jungle. Now, let's see about you, cub."
A strong hand grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and pulled him into the air. Henriette's curiosity was also peaked. That voice was very familiar to her. Could it be? She walked to the side of the ring to see who was causing such a commotion. Her eyes widened when she saw the cub's rescuer. She too was a hippo and looked quite similar to Henriette. Her full belly and bright smile practically a mirror image. Her skin was a bit lighter and missed Henriette's earthen brown hue in favor of a more grey tone. She smiled at Henriette.
"How are ya sis? It's been a while, hasn't it? Has the ring run out of things for you to fight? Little lion cubs are hardly a worthy opponent."
"Oh, this one isn't about worthiness. Timon and Pumbaa told us this fierce lion would be their brave protector, and that he'd take on any of us. To prove it they signed him up for a few rounds of wrestling in here. And since I'm never one to skip out on having a little fun, he's been getting a taste of my big 'ol belly. So what brings you to these parts, Michelle?"
"I'm just popping by for a little family visit, but if you're busy I can come back in an hour..."
"Nonsense, just get in here." Henriette beckoned her sister. "I'm sure you all won't mind if our brave lion fights twó poor, fragile hippo's, right?!" The crowd thundered with excitement in response. Michelle blushed at the attention. The vulture saw this development as an opportunity. An old-fashioned two on two beatdown. He flew in to the ring and cleared his throat, causing silence to fall over the audience.
"Ladies aaaand gentlemen! Tonight's match just got twice as exciting! Two hippo's, facing off against the fierce king of the jungle, Simba!" The crowd laughed at the cub, who was still held by the scruff of his neck by Michelle. "But two versus one is hardly fair! Who will step up to fight alongside him?!"
