Margaret ranked certainly among the bigger fish in the local pool of young girls. Other tasks might have been easier to solve with less danger of un unbearable tickle torture and whatever weird ideas the freckled girl and her minion Abby might come up with. It was also clear that there would not be a one-off solution. Targeting Margaret would have her retaliate even if Summer could deliver a good blow, i.e. solve a mystery that the girl was responsible for.
Summer decided to discuss with Mouse what had happened at their school and town over the last couple of weeks that could be considered as unusual or unexpected. In a second step they would decide for which of those incidents the duo was suspect of being involved in. Surprisingly quite a lot incidents, minor and major, came back from Mouse's mind. But the more precise information Summer was able to read out easily because she took down such events in her diary.
The top five events were finally decided. The most relevant event seemed to be the mysterious "sickness" of a new boy in their school two weeks ago. His parents had bought a shop in town, forcing him to move to the school during the term. He had been there for a few weeks when he was reported to be sick for two days. Not only that he had told at least two differing stories what had caused him to stay at home. Summer had overheard his mother saying that the boy "had not been really sick, but, you know, we could not tell anyone..." before they were out of earshot. The boy, who was open minded and friendly before, seemed to have panic when too many girls were around him now.
