Chapter #4

Do each other's toenails

    by: Whade Author IconMail Icon
They decided it'd be great fun to get their toenails painted, something Summer started to do recently as an experiment after realizing their mother was doing it every day. This'd be a good chance to teach it to Mouse too, especially since she liked her own feet so much already.

They sat down across from each other, and after a brief lesson on manicure and pedicure from Summer she began demonstrating how to apply it on Mouse's foot.

"Mouse, stop fidgeting - I'm going to mess up the pattern"
Mouse grinned.
"Can't, you know how ticklish this foot is." She pushed it into Summer's face.
"Yeah I do. Still, just keep it in one place for only two minutes, pretty please?"
(...)
"There, all done. Now, you do mine?"

Mouse marveled at her new pink-purple toe paint.
She was also happy about herself and her liking for sandals that'd show them off.

Then Mouse started on Summer's toenails, but the older sister had a hard time holding her foot still.

"O-ho-ho. Okay I know I scolded you for not keeping still, but this is really ha-ha haard"
"Hihihi." Mouse enjoyed the crazy grimaces her sister was making
Her foot was too ticklish, even just Mouse holding her heel in her palm itched for her. But, after a long while (because Mouse was less skilled and it took her a lot more time to complete the coat of paint on each nail) Summer's toes were finally done.
The coating wasn't perfect, but for a first-timer, it was a good first attempt.
She looked at Mouse to praise her for her hard work and saw that she was still being mesmerized by the various small brushes that came with the toenail set.
"Yeah, good work, what are you so dumbfounded for"

"Oh, come on. These brushes look so crazy, there's no way we're NOT trying them." and Mouse grabbed her sister's foot, teasing around the fresh paint.

"Mouse, ha-ha, wait, stop, you'l mess up the paint!"
"Well I guess you'll just have to stay still then, until it dries"

Summer gritted her teeth and let her sister's brush have its way with her big toe, then when she started to draw it between her index and big toe, she kicked and broke free. She quickly hid her legs under herself.

"OK, now you try me." Mouse excitedly pushed her leg into her sister's face.
"No way. If you end up kicking me in the face, it will not only hurt, it'll mess up our work on the paint too. You can play with them after it's dried."
"How long does that take?"
"Oh, only about an hour or so."
"Drat."
