"Paige get up or you're going to be late for the first day of school!" Her mother, Elizabeth yelled from downstairs. Paige tiredly got out of the bed and picked out her clothes for the day. Letting out a yawn, Paige settled on a Brookside lacrosse tank top and a pair of Nike short shorts. As Paige walked downstairs, she was greeted by her dog Bailey, panting and wagging his tail. "Finally, you're downstairs for breakfast." Elizabeth said, clad in a workout outfit.
"Yea, so what did you make?" Paige asked, taking a sip of orange juice.
"Just some egg whites." Liz replied as she started to eat some for herself. After Paige finished breakfast, she gathered her backpack and phone and started to drive to school in her ice white BMW.
As Paige arrived at school, she spotted her best friend Danielle Harris in the parking lot. "Dani! It's so good to see you!" Paige said, hugging her plump friend. As long as Paige could remember, Dani was always chubby.
"Hey Paige! What did you do this summer?" Dani asked, eating a McDonalds hash brown for breakfast.
"I mostly partied a lot, went to the beach and worked out. What about you?"
"I was a counselor at Elk Mountain Day Camp. The food there was so good I think I put on like ten pounds this summer." Dani said, grabbing her flab.
"Oh that's not good. So what are you now 170?"
"Yea, I'm thinking about a diet but my mom said that she doesn't care about my weight."
"I wish my mom was as lenient about weight as yours. My mom would freak out if I was 125, and if I was 170, forget about it. I would be grounded the rest of the year." Paige said as her and Dani started to laugh. "Come on . Let's go inside. Jackie and Maya are waiting." Paige said as her overweight friend waddled next to her.
