Moonbounce leapt back out of bed, bouncing off of it with her rounded rear and landing perfectly on her hind hooves. With a tip of her body her forehooves hit the ground a second later and a grin crossed her face. She knew just the thing to help her get in a sleepy mood, and also to make the best impression when she met Sergeant Nox. The mare took one last look around the bunkroom before turning and trotting back to the doorway, finding it hard to suppress the natural skip in her step and march professionally like a real guard.
She reemerged into the hallway, taking a brief moment to look back into the other room. From the look of it they'd pretty much all paired up amongst themselves, the mulitcoloured horde of rookies gathering around something at the far end of the room. Moon sighed lightly. They were so lucky to already be jumping right into this, and she would of liked to have gotten to serve with the ponies she trained with, but Thestrals were pretty rare. The Lunar Guard was smaller and some would say more elite than the Celestial Guard, not being reduced to ceremonial roles and taking the more dangerous night patrols.
Moon realised she's been staring for almost half a minute before she shook herself. A quick look around told her noone had noticed her lapse and she put her grin back on as she turned around. "To the showers," she told herself. It wasn't a long walk, and only the rhythmic tapping of her hooves on tiles kept her company as she made her way to the two large guard showerooms. In no time at all she was stopping as she reached them, turning to the doors. On one side was the door marked with a blue picture of a stallion, the other a pink picture of a mare. She lifted her hoof to push the mare door open and stepped in.
She was greeted by the sound of rushing water already echoing across the room. Eleven showes were arranged across the back of the room, three against the back wall and four spreading out and up the sides. Wooden benches and metal lockers took up the rest of the space. Steam was filling the room, wafting out from under all of the closed curtains as it seemed every shower was in use at the same time. A squad must have coordinated on it or something. Moon sighed, not wanting to spend her time waiting around... maybe she should check the stallion showers? If they had the same curtain setup then as long as she made it into and out of the shower then nopony would know.
