Chris Clove found herself lying in her bed.
That must've been the diamond's doing, which means the change must've had already taken place.
She jumped out of bed and to the mirror, and stared into it...
(Chris is a shy, short and petite girl. She's actually courageous and adventurous inside, but wishes her presence would get noticed more often, and that she had the strength to be able to speak up more.)
...and noticed nothing different. Same skinny legs, same cute but way too harmless-looking face, same powerless eyes.
She threw herself back on the bed in disappointment.
Maybe it was something else that changed. Maybe it was something she'd only notice once she was in that kind of situation. Tomorrow she...And while thinking that she already fell asleep.
------
When she walked to school, it was the family's dog that first showed signs of acting strange.
It growled and tried to bite her hand. So much for popularity, Chris thought.
Yet when he walked into school, she soon noticed that all the guys were eyeing her. She couldn't quite understand why.
One of the upperclassmen stepped to her.
"Hey babydoll." He pinched her sides. "Wanna come take a walk with me later?"
Chris jumped, and backed away with a flustered expression.
It wasn't the only person acting too "handsy" that day either.
Every boy she ran on the corridor seemed to try to get in a poke or pinch.
Chris wasn't sure what to think.
She liked being tickled, but the guys' forcefulness and attention scared her.
It all came into the finish when some of the guys sorrounded her behind the school during P.E.
"Hey Chris. You haven't been paying us much attention lately have you?"
