Chapter #2
The Oasis
by: Unknown
You let out a groan and then you open your eyes. “Oh,” you grunt as you hold your head. “Oh man. What happened?” You then look around and see acres and acres of sand up all around. The sand glows in hues of reds, yellows and purples. You see what appears to be a camel spider crawling across the ground and you gasp as you hold your head. “How did I end up in a desert?” you ask as you feel your head. “It’s a blank.” You step forward through the sand and you see something glowing up ahead. It shined like gold and you run forward to see what it is. All you could tell was that whatever it was, it was almost completely buried underneath the thick golden red sand.
As you’re running, you fail to notice that you’re passing by a ridge of some sort that appeared to be shaped like a ribcage and looked like bones painted a dustier color by the raging sandstorms. Up ahead, you see clouds in the distance and what look like two mountains that were completely covered by shadows. “Huh?” you ask. “That’s odd. I didn’t think there would be mountains in this desert. From the looks of it, this clearly isn’t an American desert.” What was it that made you convinced this was no American desert? The answer was simple. You didn’t see a single cactus in the area and there appeared to be what looked like a cobra’s skin blowing in the wind. Clearly you were in an old world desert of some sort. The only thing to guide you was that glowing sparkle up in the sand.
By the time you reach the sparkle in the sand, you look down and see that the sparkling light was coming from what looked like a silver tassel. “A tassel?” you ask. You then pull on the tassel and see that it was attached to a carpet that was made up of a red square inside a blue square inside a yellow square inside of a white square inside of a pink square. The carpet was in tatters and had what looked like a giant hole in the center of it.
It was at this point you remember where you saw this carpet. You were looking for a carpet for your dorm room after your previous carpet was ruined by a leaking tube of purple paint. While in the carpet store, you saw this very carpet being throw into a dumpster. You were wondering who would throw out such a perfectly good carpet and decided to try and take it for yourself. However, as soon as you picked up the carpet, it fluttered violently and from what you could remember, it was some sort of magic carpet. It must’ve brought you to this strange desert in the first place. Unfortunately, from the looks of it, it crash-landed and you couldn’t use it to fly your way back home.
As you hold up the remains of the carpet, you let out a sigh. “Well,” you say. “It doesn’t look like I’ll be flying home. I’ve got to get out of this desert.” You begin to walk through the desert looking for any sign of civilization. Unfortunately, after an hour, your search is as fruitless as ever and you pant and gasp as the heat begins to get to you. “Forget civilization,” you say to yourself. “Water is what I need.” As you’re panting, you hear buzzing. You see a fly buzzing and you’re about to swat it but then you remember, insects need water to survive too. Following the fly may be more beneficial than killing it. You decide to run after the fly and as you continue to follow it, you see that in the distance there are those two bright reddish purple-covered mountains again and they appear to be shifting.
You were too thirsty to care at that point and just continue to follow the fly until you reach what looks like a lush green oasis with a large pool of water that looked as big as a river. You gasp and then you start to drink as much water as you can. As you continue to drink the water, you hear some slight earthquakes and then you see the water rippling as an enormous shadow is cast over you. You look up and gasp because those two red violet mountains were not mountains after all. They were the humps of a 695ft tall anthropomorphic camel woman with red-violet fur and long silvery pink hair. Her arms were heavily muscular and she had well-toned abs, albeit with a very large and stout stomach that looked like it belonged on a sumo wrestler. The camel giantess was dressed as a belly dancer with a crystal necklace that looked like it was made of bejeweled eyes. Similar decorations hung on her skirt.
As you’re dumbfounded, the camel giantess steps into the water and then looks down at you. She gives a big smile before she winks at you and bends down to pick you up.
