You slink back towards your room, but when you go inside, you leave the door open just a crack, so you can hear what your parents are saying. For a while, they are quiet, deep in thought. Suddenly, your father makes a noise.
"The city will be captured. There is nothing we can do about this anymore", says your father.
Your mother quickly replies,
"We may not be able to do anything now, but we can do something after the city is captured. I know a friend, whose father was in the rebellion in the first war. She says she can take us into hiding, possibly even take us out of the country. I heard that places like Switzerland and Sweden are very nice right now!"
Another few moments pass.
"Then, it is decided. We have no opportunity, we must go. Our children depend on us, we must not fail. Not for our sake, for theirs", your father finally replies.
"We shall leave..."
