Chapter #5

Bodiless part of town

    by: Joe Author IconMail Icon
Kim ended up in a place where it looks like a typical marketplace except it's littered with heads. Some of these heads are sitting somewhere either resting or gossiping with other heads. Some of these heads are rolling around or moving to places in unique ways. Whenever there are bodies, it's either a tourist who is just visiting or the bodies are carrying and caring for their heads.

Kim took some photos as she was amazed with what she saw before her eyes, "Interesting! It's not an absolute head world, but these heads aren't so worthless. Now I just need to interview some of these heads."

"I can help."

Kim notices a disembodied head with a red ponytail who was sitting by the entrance of this part of town. Kim kneels down as the head continues to what she is about to say.

"I'm Anna, one of the few head guides of this part of town," the head greeted, "Feel free to carry me around and ask any questions. Please be sure to tip me when you're done."

Kim picks up Anna's head and held her up face level, "Nice to meet you Anna, my name is Kim. Reporter for Beesfeed."

Then there are those who just wants to rest as a head here," Anna said.

"Interesting," Kim said, "Mind telling me about your life here."

"With pleasure," Anna said, "As I said before, I work as a tour guide of this place. Like as a head here is hard, but it can be relaxing since most of us just come here to just sit around. There are some other heads that work around here despite the lack of limbs."

"To think this was all possible," Kim said.

"I mean, look at me! I'm technically working as a tour guide here and my body is off working at the gift shops," Anna said.

"Any recommendations for us to visit?" Kim asked.

"Hmm, well you can visit the local shelves and detach your own head," Anna said.

"Wait, I don't think I'm able to do that," Kim said.

"Of course you can, only here though. The detachment stuff triggers when anyone comes around here," Anna said, "I got a history lecture to go in detail, but it's excessive. Maybe the new museum here might help."

Kim thought about what to do as she wants to experience detachment, but at the same time she is interested with the so called history that Anna mentioned. The Reporter had no idea what to choose and recklessly made one. It is to...
