Chapter #5

Sell them to a nearby head store

    by: Unknown
"Head store?!" you exclaim, shocked at her, or rather the restaurant's, plans.

"Yes, we sell heads we collect to them at a discount. We get much more for them than a meal, and they get heads for cheap. I hope your meal was well worth it". she explains.

It was a good meal, but something to lose your head over? You aren't sure. And now what becomes of your body, out on its own? You get one last look at the odd assortment of mismatched, headless, bodiless and so on guests before the server carried you behind a door. You see a shelf full of heads.

"Wow, that meal was great, I can't wait to meet my new owner" says a young woman's head, obviously more excited and knowledgeable on the place than you were. Some heads seem happy, some disgruntled at their situation.

The server sets you down on an empty spot. "Now in the morning someone will bring you all over to the store" she says before leaving you with your new fellow disembodied heads. "Hey there, new head" the excited lady from before says to you as she glances over the best she can from her spot. You converse a bit with them, finding out some were tourists like yourself, stumbling into a head thief of a business, while others were long time residents looking for a mix up. One had even been owned by several bodies, coming to this restaurant often. You talked the rest of the night away with the other heads. As the place closed up a headless woman came to the back to check on all the heads before turning the lights off. You all said your goodnights and fell asleep.

___

What had happened was surely no strange dream as you wake up, still nothing more than a head. However now you find yourself on a cart with the various other heads you had met the night before.
"Rise and shine, sleepy head" the same woman who had first talked to you greets you. "Morning to you too" you say. Looking around you can see you are all in the back of a van, with a headless driver at the wheel, wearing the outfit of the restaurant's staff. At least it was likely you hadn't been stolen.

After a short rest of the drive, you all pull up to the head store. The driver parks, gets out and opens the back of the van, carefully unloading your cart without any heads tipping over. The headless driver then wheels the cart into the store.

"Good morning!" a young lady's head sitting on the front counter greets the driver, "Looks like you've got a nice new assortment of heads". You see the driver nod their headless stump.

A headless employee of the store it would seem (maybe the woman's body) came out to the front to help the driver unload you all. One by one you are lifted up and scanned over the counter, weighed and inspected before a price tag is slapped on the bottom of your neck stump and you are put up on a shelf. You are in awe of the odd scenario as it unfolds. After the last head had joined the rest, the driver collected some payment and was on his way. You then prepare yourself for a nice sunny morning as the light poured in from the shop's windows. You admire many of the other heads here, some you wouldn't mind buying had you a body to do it with. Maybe your body would. Who knows, maybe it was already here?

After a few hours, someone walks into the store...

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. it was your body!

2. it was someone else

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
