Chapter #5

Welcome to the jungle

    by: Feathery Author IconMail Icon
When the crowd started booing Rebecca realized she couldn’t wait here any longer. It was time to face the music. She had to for her brother’s sake. Taking a deep breath to steady herself and so the crowd wouldn’t see how much she was shaking, she stepped out into the light and into the arena.

There was a kind of jungle theme going on here. A few trees covered in creepers stood high above the tall grass, but there was enough open space so as not to obstruct the crowd’s view. The grass tipped in a fluffy, almost feathery head that tickled as her hands as she pushed through it.

Luckily for her, her hands were the only thing beneath her shoulders that were exposed, which was more than could be said for her opponent. Ashley was already snickering as the grass brushed against here sides and midriff where her jeans and jacket didn’t quite protect. She didn’t mind admitting she was panicking about this round. If she was laughing before she’d met her opponent that how much worse would it be when-

She realized she was fighting a smaller girl. Who looked a few years younger. Oh thank god. Sure the grass was gonna tickle like hell, but she’d got this- she hoped.

The crowd began murmuring in anticipation as Ashley and Rebecca drew close, neither eager to attack first just in case it was an illusion. Neither were voracious ticklers looking to break the other into submission, but as Ashley grew closer an evil look must’ve crossed her face. Rebecca’s resolve faltered as she realized that this was another battle she probably wasn’t going to win. All she could do was lessen the blow.

“Please.” She whispered, so the crowd couldn’t hear her. “I’m only here because they kidnapped my brother. Go easy on me.”

Ashley stopped for a second, unsure whether the other girl was telling the truth or not. She didn’t mind losing- that was all part of the fun. But this looked like the only match she’d win.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Ashley agrees to forefit the match

*Noteb*
2. Ashley decides to give Rebecca an advantage (removes her jacket)

*Noteb*
3. No mercy!

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
