This choice: At dinner after Jenna leaves... • Go Back...Chapter #6At dinner after Jenna leaves... by: yugglopo   Josh was a bit disappointed to see Jenn leave, but he was still in a good mood. "Wow! That was so much fun!" He said to himself before he heard his mom call him and his siblings for dinner. The actual dinner went by normally, with Josh and Bri hardly talking to each other, and not saying a word about their swaps. Most of the talking came from Kim gathering information from each one of her kids on how their school day went. Courtney seemed to have been in a rush, as she was the first one to finish her dinner, which was a rarity. She then quickly excused herself and retreated to the room she and Bri shared. Josh had to guess she was texting with her friends or something of that matter. Kim, also in a rush, finished her dinner second and excused herself to take care of some louds of laundry.
That left just Josh and Bri, the latter of the two made sure they were in the clear before igniting conversation. "So, how was hanging out with Jenna?"
"It was a ton of fun!" Josh said eagerly, and then went through every last detail about his time with his new friend. "What did you do while I was with Jenna?" He asked after finishing, placing some of his rouge hairs behind his ear.
"I tried to play your video games, but I wasn't any good." She said sadly. "They looked like a ton of fun though."
"Well, maybe I could give you my skills. You would be able to play my games with ease then."
"Really? You would do that for me?"
"I'll do it, under one condition."
"And what's that?"
"I want to try playing in your soccer game tomorrow. I think it'll be a lot of fun. Can you give me your place on the team?"
"Yeah sure, I don't even feel like playing tomorrow anyway."
Josh and Bri completed two more swaps, the first of which gave Bri his video game skills. Josh couldn't remember how to play any of his games, not that he cares anyway. Now though, Josh had a better understanding of how to play soccer, which although unintended, would actually help him after he made the next swap. The second one gave Josh his sister's role on her soccer team, which was how he could put his new soccer skills to the test.
"Is that all?" Bri asked.
"One more thing. Since you're not playing in the soccer game tomorrow, you have no use for borrowing my hair. Can we swap that back?"
"I don't really want to, but sure. It could help you in the game tomorrow."
The light filled the kitchen, which would mark the last time the flash visited for the night. Josh had his shorter hair back, and Bri's longer hair descended down her back again.
"Alright, I'm going to go play video games." Bri said before bolting up the stairs. Josh looked around and found the living room unoccupied, he decided to go watch some Disney Channel on the couch.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
