Chapter #3

In the middle of the school’s courtyard.

You felt incredibly weird when you woke up, like you had slept on the most uncomfortable mattress in the world. That might’ve been, as you realized when you noticed your surroundings, because you weren’t on a mattress at all. You weren’t even in your house at all.

It was easy to tell you were outside but there were so many tall trees that surrounded you. Each one of them looked identical in some way from their green color scheme to the way that they had sharp ends at the very top…but that didn’t make any sense. These weren’t regular trees, they were more like blades of grass. Wait, blades of grass?!

“What the heck is going on?” This couldn’t have been possible, but it sure looked that way. You were somehow extremely tiny in what could’ve been a field out in the middle of nowhere. It sounded insane like it was from a dream, but you could easily tell it wasn’t since you could feel the soft ground beneath you and the cool air brushing against your exposed arms.

You must’ve been so tired that you couldn’t remember how this happened, or even if you managed to stay awake to even see it. Great. You cursed yourself but then thought of something. Maybe the answer to why you’re like this was on your phone. You searched through your pockets but realized immediately that they were empty. No phone or a wallet either.

“Oh come on, I don’t even have my phone?!” Maybe it was left on the floor somewhere in your house when you were feeling sleepy. So much for finding out why this happened or even where you are. For all you know this could’ve been your backyard and you had only like a few hours to make it from here to the back door of your house. That sounded like wishful thinking, but it was better than the middle of nowhere.

And then, just before you could calm yourself and hope for the best, something landed nearby.

It crashed on the ground like an asteroid, creating a massive tremor on the earth that you almost fell to your rear. Your turned quickly to see the very cause of it, and it was a massive shoe with pink laces from a giant walking across the massive field you were in. But the weirdest thing about it, besides the giant being about a hundred feet tall or so, was that she had light purple skin.

You almost thought she was an alien, but she looked human enough to say otherwise. Maybe this was an entirely different world. It was strange to think about it, but at this point accepting it felt more reasonable given your current situation. Even so, this felt completely strange to you.

You, a tiny girl having to worried about giant girls walking around that could crush you instantly? That felt like a nightmare more than anything, but you really didn’t want to be up underneath their shoes so you had to start moving. But where would you go? And was safety even possible in this big world? It was time to find out.
