This choice: Lily, your older (and taller) sister • Go Back...Chapter #4Rather Late Growth Spurts by: DeeKayWon Original Author: Rian
Your sister Lily comes into the kitchen, smiling. She was 19, your older sister by only a year and a half, and had just completed her first year at college. You'd almost forgotten she was home, being that she just arrived yesterday. She sits across the table from you, pouring a bowl of cereal, and still smiling.
"So, what's got you so happy?" you wonder out loud.
"Oh... don't worry about it." she says, placing a spoon between her grin.
You eat your cereal in silence for a little while longer, but she doesn't stop smiling. Eventually, you can't take it. "Alright. Really." you say, the annoyance very easy to read, "what're you so giddy 'bout?"
She drops the spoon into the bowl and stands up, walking over to your side of the table. She pulls on your arm, saying "Just stand up, you'll understand"
"I don't see the-" you begin to say, but she cuts you off, pulling your arm up harder.
"Just do it." she laughs.
You moan and stand up, looking at her face... then at her bare feet, then her face again. She was right, you did understand.
"Are you... You're... taller? How-" you start, but she cuts you off again.
"I know! Isn't it great!" She grins.
Your sister had always been short. All throughout childhood- even by the time she was 16 she only reached a tiny 4'8". She always hated needing help reaching things off tall shelves, and wanted to be taller, but she hadn't grown since... at least until now.
It was obvious she had grown, but you weren't really aware by how much. You decide to ask. "When did this happen?... How much taller-" she once more speaks before you finish. You'd be annoyed if she didn't do it so frequently.
"It just happened last night. When I got out of bed something felt off, so I measured. It ends up I grew almost..."
