The confusion you feel even as you answer, is palpable. One name obviously a woman's, the other just as much a man's.
"That's a start." The doctor nods, comfortingly. You feel the urge to look down, despite the smothering effect of the blankets, your bust is clearly outlined. Nodding at the confirmation, you consider your soft voice.
"So... I'm Amber." you say. Your voice less certain than you'd like.
The doctor's face briefly contorts as if pained. A slight twitch of a head shake is curtailed.
He sighs before answering. Taking a deep breath, "That body belonged to Amber Gunns, but you were Victor Bevan, and you had a terminal condition." He gives you time to let that sink in.
As you go to ask a question he restarts. "Amber had her own issues, and attempted suicide."
His fingers lock together, "So... we had the opportunity to provide you with a body, and Amber with the peace she sought."
You take in your narrow shoulders, and the long black hair, as if you want to recoil from your body. Knowing how it doesn't fit.
A cool soothing spreads from your arms, and a drowsy lethargy claims you. The doctor's comforting words accompany you back to sleep.

It's a dreamless sleep, but uncomfortable. Waking your thoughts are less garbled. Instinct, guide your limp hand to fall to the other hand. The IV has been removed. The doctor is still sitting beside you, but you can tell time's passed.
The intangibles are just different.
"So, I'm Victor Bevan, in Amber Gunns' body." you say. Hoping to show your coherence, and understanding. He nods along sadly, "Yes, that's pretty much right."
